Your publishing journey

how submissions work

before you send —

  • Introduce your work

Use the manuscript form. Include your genre, a short synopsis and where you are in the writing process.

  • Attach a sample

The form opens an email to us — attach a PDF, DOCX or TXT sample there. Only share files you are authorised to submit.

  • Start a conversation

Sending an enquiry begins a conversation; it does not constitute acceptance for publication.

Folded questions

unfold a note to read the answer

Q1Do I need a finished manuscript?

A complete draft is best for fiction and poetry. For non-fiction and knowledge books, a detailed outline and sample chapters are a good start.

Q2Which genres do you publish?

Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s books, knowledge, culture and lifestyle. See the shelf guide on the books page for what each shelf looks for.

Q3What file formats can I send?

PDF, DOCX or TXT — the letter form opens an email, so attach it there.

Q4Does sending an enquiry mean my book is accepted?

No. Sending an enquiry begins a conversation; it does not constitute acceptance for publication.

Q5Do I keep the rights to my work?

Submitting a manuscript does not create a publishing agreement or transfer ownership of your work.

Q6Can I send a book that was published before?

Yes — tell us where and when it was published, and who holds the rights now.
